Aida Cruises to increase crew pay and benefits

The line will implement a 5% salary increase and additional leave days

Carnival Corporation’s brand Aida Cruises will raise the salaries of all its crew by 5%.

The increase in pay will be carried out in two steps. The first increase of 2.5% will come into effect from February 2023 and an second increase of 2.5% will come into effect from July 2023.

Aida Cruises said in a statement: “Since we returned to service, more than 7,000 crew members of the Aida family have re-joined our fleet. Additionally, more than 6,000 crew members have been newly hired. 

“Just before the pandemic turned the world upside down, we had implemented several improvements for our crew, which couldn’t be fully utilised due to the pause of operation. Today, our crew members can benefit from a reduced and more flexible contract length, free social media packages and additional bandwidth at lower prices.”

In addition, benefits being introduced this year include increased leave for the first-time crew, increased leave days for hotel officers and an increased wage scale for cabin stewards.
