NCL’s Norwegian Dawn makes first-ever call to the UAE

Approximately 200 local agents were invited on board the ship

Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Dawn has sailed to the UAE for the first time.

Arriving in Dubai on 13 December 2023, 2,340-passenger ship Norwegian Dawn is operating Middle East cruises ranging from seven to 20 days.

In addition to Dubai, embarkation ports include Doha in Qatar and Port Louis in Mauritius, with visits to the UAE capital Abu Dhabi as well as Sir Bani Yas Island, followed by stops along the shores of the Indian Ocean and Africa, reaching sought-after destinations including the Seychelles, Kenya and Tanzania.

The next cruise – a seven-days sailing from Doha to Dubai, stopping at Manama Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Sir Bani Yas Island, departed on 20 December and cost from just US$279. NCL plans to repeat similar itineraries in 2024.

Talking to Connecting Travel, Bubolz said: "We've done a major ship visit programme that we're in the middle of as we speak. We have four days in a row where our team is hosting 50 travel agents a day for a combination of presentations and tours, first in Dubai and then in Abu Dhabi.

"The selected agents have been handpicked by our local partners, including CruiseMaster, which has done a really good job. All the agents selected have been very eager to learn about NCL and attendance has been great."
