The Scenic Group eyes growth in the Middle East cruise market

The group, which includes Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, has partnered with Daniel Essex to drive expansion

The Scenic Group aims to drive expansion across emerging cruise source markets in the GCC, encompassing Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

To target these markets, starting this month, The Scenic Group is working in partnership with cruise consultant and sales strategy expert, Daniel Essex.

Essex is the former consultant of sales strategy and planning for Cruise Saudi and is charged with delivering greater brand awareness for The Scenic Group and its brands within the GCC’s travel trade community, and with both the MICE and charter-incentive markets.

The move follows Scenic Group successfully providing charter sailings in Saudi Arabia in 2021 on board Scenic Eclipse, The World’s First Discovery Yacht (pictured).

In addition, brand new luxury super yacht Emerald Azzurra is set to visit the region, including home-porting in Doha, Qatar in winter 2022

Scenic Azzurra will homeport in Doha

Scenic Group’s Dominika Lange, general manager of Sales & Marketing EMEA, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Daniel to the team. His impressive track record will be invaluable as we focus our intentions on bringing the Scenic Group’s portfolio of incredible brands to life for guests in the region.”
