From January to December, here are the places to book this year
Travellers across the world are gearing up for an eventful 2026, with plans already underway. Major global events, such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup, are set to drive tourists to the North American region this summer, with demand from affluent UAE and Saudi markets already up by more than 235% and 180% respectively.
Those travelling long-haul for the football to the host nations – the US, Canada and Mexico – may also like to expand their trips, adding bucket list experiences on the same continent, such as trekking in Machu Picchu in Peru.
For Gulf-based outbound markets, short- and mid-haul destinations, including Egypt, the Maldives, Jordan and Caucasus countries, will continue to grow, while worldwide demand for tourist hot spots in Europe, such as the UK, France and Portugal, will remain popular.
Here’s a month-by-month breakdown of some of the best destinations to visit in 2026.

January is one of the best times to visit Thailand, with the dry season bringing blue skies, low humidity and warm, comfortable temperatures across the country. From the beaches of Phuket and Krabi to Bangkok’s cultural landmarks and vibrant dining scene, conditions are ideal for both city breaks and tropical escapes. Bangkok’s global appeal has been further underscored recently by the World’s 50 Best Hotels listing.
