Emirates invites UAE residents to join cabin crew

Airline to appoint 5,000 new members as part of global recruitment drive

Emirates has put out a call to UAE residents wanting to apply to join its team of cabin crew.

As part of its recruitment procedure, the airline is hosting a series of invite-only events in Dubai, designed exclusively for those who live and work in the UAE. Invites are open to all nationalities with the closing date for applications being 13 June 2024. 

Emirates currently has 22,000 global cabin crew members and is looking to boost that number by an additional 5,000 in this financial year.

To be eligible to apply, candidates must meet a number of criteria, which include: 

  • having at least a year’s experience working within hospitality or customer service
  • being at least a high-school graduate (Grade 12)
  • being fluent in written and spoken English (with the ability to speak another language an advantage)
  • measuring at least 160cm tall and being able to reach 212cm to enable access to emergency equipment
  • Having no visible tattoos

Successful candidates will undergo an intense eight-week training course in Emirates' state-of-the-art facility in Dubai.

The recruitment drive comes as Emirates begins to take delivery of its Airbus A350s from mid-year and its Boeing 777-Xs from 2025. The airline has 65 A350s and a mix of 205 777-9s and 777-8s on its order book.

In 2023, Emirates hired 8,000 cabin crew and held recruitment events in 353 cities. Throughout 2024, Emirates’ recruitment team will host open days and assessments in more than 460 cities across six continents.
