Properties across the UAE capital attracted 531,000 guests in April
Abu Dhabi’s hotel sector generated AED846 million in revenues in April 2025, marking a 38.6% increase from AED611 million in March, according to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the Statistics Centre.
This represents a year-on-year growth of 30.4% and builds on the sector’s double-digit gains recorded in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
Room sales accounted for the largest share of April’s revenue at AED540 million, followed by AED256 million from food and beverage operations and AED51 million from other services.
This strong financial performance was underpinned by a surge in guest numbers, as hotels across the UAE capital attracted some 531,000 guests in April, up from 417,000 in March.
The average occupancy rate across the city’s 172 hotel establishments reached 87%, a rise of 69% from the previous month.

The guest profile was led by visitors from non-Arab Asian countries, who accounted for 149,000 hotel guests, closely followed by European travellers with 148,000 and UAE nationals, who made up 97,000 guests.
Five-star hotels attracted the highest number of guests at 265,000, followed by four-star properties with 143,000, three-star hotels with 63,000 and hotel apartments hosting 61,000, showing a healthy distribution across all accommodation categories.
Abu Dhabi attracted 1.4 million overnight guests in the first quarter of 2025, with India, China, Russia, the UK and the US leading inbound markets.
By 2030, the UAE capital aims to attract 39.3 million visitors and expand its hotel capacity to 50,000 rooms.
