Abu Dhabi’s new must-try restaurant

Abu Dhabi’s new must-try restaurant

The chef behind Milan’s two-Michelin-starred Seta by Antonio Guida is coming to the UAE

Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi has announced the opening of a Talea, a new restaurant by the acclaimed chef of two-Michelin-starred Seta by Antonio Guida in Milan, Italy.

The new restaurant is Guida’s first outlet outside of Italy. It will serve seasonal and authentic Italian cuisine in an elegant, lively setting with an open kitchen.

With roots in southern Italy’s Puglia region, Guida honed his talents in several Michelin-starred restaurants, and then, in 2015, he led Seta at Mandarin Oriental, Milan to scoop its first Michelin star just four months after opening, and then a second Michelin star thereafter.

The new restaurant: elegant interiors

Talea’s menu draws on Guida’s distinctive culinary style to create “cucina di famiglia”, family-style cooking. From handmade ravioli, authentic spaghetti alla carbonara and artisanal pizza to osso buco and vitello tonnato. In keeping with Guida’s signature culinary style, the dishes fuse traditional techniques with an innovative edge.

Speaking about the opening, Guida said: “With our concept of ‘Italy meets Abu Dhabi’, I am delighted to offer Talea’s patrons a new culinary experience that presents a new interpretation of Italian favourites, along with some rare and unusual combinations.”

Signature dishes include wood-fired pizza

Michael Koth, Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi general manager and area vice president of Operations for the Middle East, added: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with chef Antonio Guida at Talea, further enhancing our culinary offerings at Emirates Palace. Talea combines the flavours of Italy with the scents of Arabia, setting a new benchmark for Italian cuisine in Abu Dhabi.”

Guests can combine the new culinary experience with all the hotel has to offer when booking the One More Night package.
