Latvia’s national airline will fly between the emirate and the Lithuanian capital twice a week

Latvia’s national airline has announced that it will launch flights between Dubai in the UAE and Vilnius, the capital of neighbouring country Lithuania.

Part of the airline’s winter schedule, the route will operate twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday from 1 November 2023.

The expected flight time will be 6 hours and 35 minutes.

The outbound flight will depart Vilnius at 23:55 and arrive in Dubai at 08:30. The return leg will depart Dubai at 09:30 and arrive in Vilnius at 14:35.

The new seasonal route will complement the existing all-year-round route between the Latvia's capital Riga and Dubai.

Mantas Vrubliauskas, vice president of Network Development at Air Baltic, said: "We are excited to announce the launch of the direct flight between Vilnius and Dubai for the first time.

"Dubai is becoming one of the most popular destinations for Lithuanians in winter, and last year there were almost 17,000 passengers travelling between Vilnius and Dubai. With this new nonstop route we'll be making their journey much faster and more comfortable.”
