Alliance will develop joint academic and training programmes

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development and Sharjah’s Skyline University College have formally agreed to work together to strengthen the tourism sector and elevate its academic standing.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (pictured) marked a public declaration to develop joint academic and training programmes, specialised research initiatives and exchange knowledge to advance the tourism sector within the emirate of Ajman.

Director general of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, HE Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi was present at the signing alongside Professor Mohammad In’airat, vice-chancellor of Skyline University College.

“The signing of this MoU represents a pivotal stride toward advancing tourism prospects in Ajman,” said Alhashmi. “By enhancing our tourism and cultural prowess, as well as bolstering our capacity to attract tourists and drive sustainable development, we anticipate shared gals and leveraging mutual experiences to propel tourism growth in the emirate.”

According to Professor In’airat, the partnership has the potential to enrich human resources and elevate Ajman’s status as a premier educational and tourist hub.

He added: “This collaboration aims to elevate the academic and cultural dimensions for our students while leveraging the vast expertise of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development. It presents numerous opportunities for knowledge exchange and skills development that serve the interests of both entities and elevate our academic standing.”

The educational and training initiatives offered by Skyline University College will complement tourism sector skills, encompassing foreign language proficiency, modern hotel management techniques, tourism marketing strategies, and occupational safety and health protocols.
