Arabian Travel Market 2021 to feature expert-packed programme

Regional and international travel industry professionals will convene to discuss the future of the industry

Arabian Travel Market (ATM) organisers have confirmed that this year’s event will have a strong focus on the role of travel technology in the industry. Throughout the event, and follow-up ATM Virtual, industry experts will host panels and discussions around travel tech.

On the opening day of the event, Sunday, 16 March, Daniela Wagner will host ‘The Application of Technology to Adapt to the New Reality,’ from 12:30pm. Travolution executive editor Lee Hayhurst will conduct a one-on-one interview with Gavin Harris from leading metasearch website Skyscanner, looking at its latest developments brought in to ensure the customer journey is facilitated. The interview will be followed by a panel discussion with experts who will discuss how their latest technology developments will enable them to respond to the travel recovery and the long-term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A session on Sector Collaboration organised by the Global Travel & Tourism Resilience Council will take place on Monday, 17 May from 10:30am to 11:30 am. Moderated by Sarah Hedley Hymers, Editorial Director of Connecting Travel and CNN’s Richard Quest, the session will cover how sectors need to work together to ensure travel rebounds, boosting economies in the process.

On Tuesday 18 May,from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, Connecting Travel’s Paula Lacey will moderate a session called ‘East Meets West: Lessons Learned Leading to Recovery and On-going Resilience’. The discussion will centre on recovery strategies and lessons learnt in the APAC countries that have and have not been applied in the west.

The 27th edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) takes place from Sunday 16 to Wednesday 19 May 19 with ATM Virtual from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 May.
