The rebranded resort will be focused on elevated food and beverage offerings, including a pan-Asian rooftop restaurant with sunset views and an upscale alcohol-free bar.

Experiences and entertainment will also be a focus at the family-focused property with guests able to stargaze alongside in-house astronomers, enjoy fireside storytelling or soar above the dunes on hot air balloon excursions.

Owned by Meydan, the resort has been a popular Dubai desert escapes for nearly 20 years.

Commenting on the announcement, Kerzner International chief executive Philippe Zuber said: “I'm excited to welcome Bab Al Shams Desert Resort to the newly introduced Rare Finds collection. Anyone living in Abu Dhabi or Dubai ends up, at least once, at Bab Al Shams as its iconic, very special and unique, and Kerzner can bring something new to this place.”
