Bahrain’s Gulf Air launches new routes ahead of summer holiday season

Flights to four additional destinations will launch in June

Bahrain’s Gulf Air is expanding its European network this summer with additional routes to Manchester (UK), Nice (France), and Milan and Rome (Italy).

Flights from Bahrain to Milan, Rome Fiumicino and Manchester will will run from 1 June 2022, and the route to Nice will launch on 2 June.

Flights to Milan, Rome and Nice will be served by the airline’s new Airbus A321neo with two weekly flights to Rome and Nice, and five weekly flights to Milan. Manchester will be served twice a week by the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Commenting on the announcement, Gulf Air acting chief executive officer Captain Waleed AlAlawi said: “These new destinations have been on our horizon and as travel bounces back to normalcy, we knew it was the right time to launch our new routes for our passengers.

“Our network keeps adding popular boutique destinations that are favourite with many tourists and families in the Kingdom of Bahrain as demand for travel grows in a healthy accelerated way towards the summer holidays.”

The carrier also plans to resume operations to Mykonos and Santorini in Greece, Malaga in Spain, Sharm Al Shaikh and Alexandria in Egypt, and Salalah in Oman.
