Barceló Hotel Group opens its first resort in Thailand

The five-star Barceló Coconut Island hotel is on Koh Maprao, east of Phuket

Barceló Hotel Group has expanded its international presence in Asia with the opening of Barceló Coconut Island hotel. 

The recently refurbished five-star resort is on Coconut Island, known as Koh Maprao in Thai, just 500 metres off the east coast of Phuket. Easily accessible, the resort offers a 24-hour transfer services to and from Phuket.

Overlooking Phang Nga Bay, Barceló Coconut Island has 274 rooms, including 120 two- to five-bedroom villas, making it suitable for larger groups, as well as a romantic retreat.

The resort features three swimming pools, tropical gardens, a spa with a Turkish bath, sauna and a variety of treatments, a dedicated fitness area, two tennis courts and water sports facilities.

Barceló Coconut Island is also home to four restaurants: Koko, an elegant restaurant and cocktail bar offering Japanese cuisine; Kabang, specialising in Asian dishes on the beach; Kucina, inspired by the Mediterranean cuisine, and Laku Beach Club.
