Breaking news: hospitality fees to be reduced in Abu Dhabi

The reduction in fees will come into effect from 1 September

Abu Dhabi has announced upcoming changes in the hospitality fees applied at hotels. 

The changes, which will take place from 1 September 2023, have been actioned to “further stimulate the investment environment for hotel establishments in Abu Dhabi”, according to a circular from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT).

The changes stipulated are as follows: 

• A reduction of the Tourism Free from 6% to 4% of the value of the invoice issued to the customer
• Cancellation of Municipality Fee per room, per night of AED15
• Cancellation of Tourism Fee (6%) and Municipality Fee (4%) applied to hotel restaurants
• Municipality Fee remains at 4% of the value of the invoice issued to the customer

The Municipality Fee of 4% of the value of the invoice issued to the customer will continue.
