Dubai airport readies for Eid Al-Fitr passenger surge

Average daily traffic is expected to exceed 177,000 passengers between 29 April and 9 May

Dubai International (DXB) airport is expecting more than 1.9 million travellers over the Eid Al-Fitr holiday period. The 7 May is expected to be the busiest day with passenger numbers surpassing the 200,000 mark.

Dubai Airports is working with airlines, control authorities service partners to reduce disruption and provide a seamless experience for customers. 

Those travelling during this peak period have been advised to remain in contact with their respective airlines and ensure they have all the necessary documents with the required validity before reaching the airport, while travellers over the age of 12 are being encouraged to use Smart Gates to speed up the passport control process.

Customers flying out of DXB Terminal 1, must arrive at the airport no earlier than three hours before departure, while those travelling from Terminal 3 can use Emirates’ early check-in and self-service check-in facilities.

Dubai carrier Emirates has also announced that it will offer more flights across seven cities in the GCC and Middle East during Eid Al-Fitr holidays. Currently, more than 75 international carriers currently connect DXB to 196 destinations across 92 countries.
