Emirates suspends flights to Nigeria

Emirates has suspended all flights between Dubai and Nigeria until further notice.

The Dubai carrier pointed to government directives to explain the decision, which came into effect 18 March, 2021.

Customers travelling to and from Lagos or Abuja will not be accepted for travel.

This week, Nigeria’s aviation minister reportedly suspended Emirates from flying into and out of its territory after the airline imposed additional Covid-19 test requirements on passengers from the country.

Emirates has also suspended flights to South Africa until 8 April at the earliest.

Customers who have travelled through South Africa in the last 14 days will not be permitted on any Emirates flights for Dubai.

The carrier has introduced daily flights to and from Sudan capital Khartoum and resumed flights to more than 90 destinations across its network.
