Expo 2020 Dubai reveals star-studded culinary line-up

David Myers, Geoffrey Zakarian, David Thompson and Rohit Gahi are among the chefs who will contribute to the epicurean events

With just under two months to go until its opening, Expo 2020 Dubai has revealed the impressive lineup of award-winning chefs who will be appearing and contributing culinary concepts to the event.

With more than 200 F&B outlets at the six-month show, it’s expected to become Dubai’s premier dining destination. Among the chefs lined up to appear, more than 20 represent restaurants that have earned Michelin stars and many concepts will make their debut at Expo 2020 Dubai.

David Myers will combine classic American fast food with international influence at Adrift Burger Bar, while celebrated Armenian-American chef Geoffrey Zakarian will present The National Bar & Dining Rooms, a grand café offering modern bistro cuisine from breakfast to dinner.

Expo will also introduce internationally-acclaimed restaurants to the region, including famed Italian Scarpetta, which will launch its first-ever Burrata Bar, and David Thompson’s renowned Thai street food chain, LongChim.

Rohit Ghai’s Chelsea restaurant, Kutir, joins the smorgasbord, taking inspiration from the royal tradition of hunting expeditions in the forests and jungles of India, creating both authentic and experimental dishes.

Among the bespoke food concepts launching, there’s the Alkebulan African dining hall, curated by former opera singer-turned-restauranteur Alexander Smalls, featuring 11 chef-led concepts from across the African continent. In addition, Expo 2020 Dubai will showcase a number of homegrown brands, including Arabian Tea House, Al Reef Bakery, Filipino eatery Dampa Seafood Grill and Ravi Restaurant, which will serve its iconic Pakistani street food dishes.
