UAE-based budget airline carried record 15.7 million passengers in 2025
Flydubai has reported a 19% year‑on‑year rise in Business Class demand, underscoring growing appetite for premium air travel as the Dubai-based carrier delivered record operational and financial results for 2025. Reflecting sustained growth in the premium segment, the airline will take delivery of seven Boeing 737 MAX 9s in 2026 to further expand its Business Class capacity.
The record performance reflects growing demand across both corporate and leisure segments, with the airline carrying 15.7 million passengers in 2025 – its highest ever. Flydubai now connects 140 airports across 58 countries to Dubai, supporting the emirate’s role as a leading global aviation hub.
The increase in Business Class bookings was driven by growing corporate travel demand and network expansion into key regional markets, alongside ongoing product upgrades such as retrofitted aircraft and enhanced inflight amenities.
For the 12 months ending 31 December 2025, Flydubai posted a pre‑tax profit of AED 2.2 billion, up 16%, with total revenue increasing 6% to AED 13.6 billion, supported by consistent network expansion, product innovation and operational efficiencies.
Operational performance also remained strong, with on‑time departures improving by 6% compared to 2024. The carrier operated more than 126,000 flights in 2025, recording over 400 departures in a single day during peak travel periods.
Flydubai saw robust regional demand, with passenger growth of 17% from the Middle East, 12% from Africa and 12% from Europe. Nine new destinations were added to the network last year – including Antalya, Nairobi and Riga.

Fleet expansion continued with the delivery of 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, taking the total fleet to 97, while its retrofit programme also reached completion, ensuring consistent cabin standards across both Business and Economy Class.
CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said the results reflect the “resilience of Flydubai’s business model and the agility of our people” as the airline expanded capacity despite geopolitical, supply chain and maintenance challenges.
He added: “We are focused on disciplined, strategic growth, expanding our network and strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading global aviation hub.”
Looking ahead, Flydubai will complete construction of its new Aircraft Maintenance Centre at Dubai South by year‑end, while network growth will include the launch of direct flights to Bangkok. The airline plans to take delivery of 12 more aircraft in 2026.
