Gulf Air and Emirates activate codeshare agreement

The partnership will allow Bahrain’s national carrier to virtually expand its network

Bahrain's Gulf Air has announced a codeshare agreement with Dubai-based carrier Emirates as part of a strategic partnership between the two carriers.

During the initial phase of the agreement, Gulf Air will apply its code to a number of Emirates' destinations in Europe and Asia including Indonesia, Brazil, Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

Speaking about the partnership, Gulf Air CEO Waleed Al Alawi said: “Entering into this partnership with another highly reputed airline allows us to virtually expand our network, enhance our offerings and provide a more seamless travel experience.

"With the launch of the new partnership with Emirates, Gulf Air now has codeshare agreements with 17 airline partners.”

Customers can combine ticketing, check-in and baggage transfers, and benefit from competitive fares, while premium passengers will also gain access to Emirates lounges in Dubai.
