InterContinental The Red Sea Resort appoints new GM

Francesco Pantalone will helm the Saudi hotel due to open in 2025

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Francesco Pantalone as the new general manager at Intercontinental The Red Sea Resort, due to open in Saudi Arabia in mid 2025.

Pantalone brings with him more than 30 years of experience working in luxury and leisure hospitality. In addition to leadership roles with the likes of The Ritz Carlton and Shangri-La in the Middle East and China, he has overseen luxury boutique hotel brands in Europe.

Commenting on his new role, Pantalone said: “I am delighted to lead the team at InterContinental The Red Sea Resort and feel privileged to be part of such a significant hotel for IHG Hotels & Resorts. Set within an archipelago of more than 90 pristine islands, InterContinental The Red Sea Resort will have 210 sea-facing rooms each providing immediate beach access. 

The hotel forms part of The Red Sea Project, which, on completion in 2030, will have 50 resorts.
