Jones the Grocer to expand into Egypt and Saudi Arabia

The Australian brand has 23 new sites scheduled across the region in the next five years

Jones the Grocer has announced that it will open sites in Egypt and Saudi Arabia as part of its ongoing expansion in the region.

The casual cafe brand will open two locations in Egypt and one in Saudi Arabia in 2021. The new sites are among 23 new openings scheduled with franchise partners across the region as part of an overarching target of 200 new stores across the world in the next five years.

Overseen by Raya Holdings, a  subsidiary of Raya Restaurants, both Egypt outlets will be located in Cairo and have a cheese room, an outdoor terrace and open kitchens producing the brand’s usual selection of charcuterie products, baked goods and patisserie items.

Raya Restaurants CEO Karim Nayef Khalife said: “Raya Restaurants is pleased to partner with Jones the Grocer and continue to add value to the F&B sector in Egypt. By incorporating the brand into Raya Restaurants’ portfolio, we are reinforcing our business strategy of strengthening our offerings and positioning in the Egyptian market.”

JTG Holdings Ltd & Jones the Grocer’s CEO and shareholder, Yunib Siddiqui said: “As our regional success continues, we are excited to partner with established franchisees in both Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who are as passionate about Jones the Grocer as we are. We look forward to bringing our brand to these regions and watching them grow with the support of a new audience.”

Jones the Grocer locations in Cairo will open their doors this month, with Riyadh set to open in the second half of the year.
