Kuwait Airways to launch 20 new routes in 2023

Budapest, Malaga and Bodrum are among the destinations to be served from June

Following its recent announcement of service enhancements, Kuwait Airways has revealed the destinations it will launch this year in order to meet consumer demand.

Though feasibility studies for some routes are still ongoing, Kuwait Airways director of Distribution and Network Planning, Shorouk Al-Awadhi, revealed the routes in the pipeline set to launch from June.

New Kuwait Airways routes include:

  • Budapest, Hungary: two flights per week on Tuesday and Saturday
  • Malaga, Spain: three flights per week on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday
  • Sarajevo, Bosnia: two flights per week on Thursday and Sunday
  • Mykonos, Greece: two flights per week on Wednesday and Sunday (in addition to its weekly flights to Athens in Greece on Friday)
  • Vienna, Austria: three flights per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
  • Nice, France: two flights per week on Tuesday and Saturday
  • Antalya, Turkey: two flights per week on Monday and Thursday
  • Trabzon, Turkey: three flights per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
  • Bodrum, Turkey: three flights per week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
  • Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt: three flights per week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 
  • Salalah, Oman: two flights per week on Tuesday and Thursday

The carrier recently announced that from March it will launch flights to Alexandria in Egypt running three times per week on Monday, Friday and Sunday, and from April it will start flying to Izmir, Turkey with three flights per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

From October 2023, Kuwait Airways will add cities including Barcelona in Spain, Berlin in Germany, and Abha, Al-Ula, Taif and Al-Qassim in Saudi Arabia to its winter schedule.
