Malaysia Airlines launches immersive ASMR experience

Carrier releases 30-minute recording of the sounds of a flight for those missing air travel

Malaysia Airlines has released an audio recording enabling listeners to enjoy the familiar sounds of flying with the carrier.

Aimed at those who are currently missing air travel, the 30-minute recording – known as an autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) – provides an aural reminder for travel aficionados of what they will be hoping to enjoy again soon.

The recording captures the sounds of passengers boarding the plane at London Heathrow and finding their seats, through to the onboard announcements from the cabin crew and the pilots, before finishing with a warm welcome as the flight lands in Kuala Lumpur.

Daniel Bainbridge, Malaysia Airlines regional director for the UK and Europe, said: “With many of our passengers currently unable to fly from London to Kuala Lumpur due to Covid-19 restrictions, we hope that this immersive aural experience serves as a reminder of the excitement of travel.

“We look forward to welcoming our passengers back on board with warm Malaysian hospitality as soon as possible.”
