Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich now open

The new hotel is the brand’s third in Switzerland

Mandarin Oriental has opened in Switzerland’s largest city, Zurich.

Located on the famous Paradeplatz, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich sits just steps away from the prestigious Bahnhofstrasse and its high-end fashion houses, the historic old town and charming promenade leading to Lake Zurich.

The story of Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich started back on Christmas Eve, 1838, when a young baker from Vorarlberg in Austria, Johannes Baur, founded the city’s first grand hotel, the Hotel Baur. Now, 185 years later, the icon has been reborn following an extensive renovation.

Many of the 44 guest rooms and 36 suites have spacious terraces and private rooftops, along with beautiful living spaces.

The four restaurant and bars overseen by executive chef Benjamin Halat include Savoy Brasserie & Bar offering French-inspired all-day dining; Orsini, a fine-dining Italian restaurant conceived by consultant chef Antonio Guida, and the 1838 rooftop bar.
