84.6% YOY traffic increase for Middle East airlines in November

The study points to aviation's recovery

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Middle Eastern airlines saw an 84.6% traffic rise in November 2022 compared to the same month in 2021.

The IATA report also noted that November capacity increased 45.4% versus the previous year and load factor – the metric used to measure the percentage of available seating filled with passengers – climbed 16.5 percentage points to 77.7%.

African airlines also performed well with an 83.5% rise in November revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) versus a year ago. November 2022 capacity was up 48.4% and load factor climbed 14.2 percentage points to 74.3%, the lowest among regions.

Globally, traffic is now at 75.3% of November 2019 levels, according to the IATA report.
