More flights options now available between Abu Dhabi and Italy

Etihad has inked a codeshare agreement with ITA Airways to boost business travel and tourism between the UAE and Italy

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with Italy’s ITA Airways.

The commercial partnership will provide travellers with better connectivity when travelling through Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa in Italy, and Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

Available for flights from 14 December 2021, ITA Airways will apply its ‘AZ’ code on services operated by Etihad between Italy and the UAE.

Similarly, Etihad will codeshare flights connecting Italian domestic services beyond Rome Fiumicino Airport, reaching Genova, Bari, Brindisi, Catania and Palermo, as well as Malta with regional European services.

According to an Etihad spokesperson, the two carriers are working together to expand the scope of their cooperation over the coming months to offer customers even more travel options.

ITA has been active since November 2020 and operates a fleet of 52 aircraft, including seven wide-bodied and 45 narrow-bodied aircraft.

The new codeshare flights can already be booked through the airlines’ respective websites.
