Platform integrates availability, itinerary design and end-to-end client management
Oman has launched Safarjala, its first adventure tourism app, giving agents and travellers a single platform to book and manage activities, rentals and guided experiences across the sultanate.
Developed with the support of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT), the app acts as a booking channel and an intelligent travel companion, allowing tours and vehicle rentals to be arranged with ease while offering inspiration and guidance for exploring Oman’s landscapes and heritage.
Available to download on smartphones, the platform brings together everything a visitor might need in one place, from desert camping, mountain trekking and diving locations to cultural landmarks and hidden natural sites found across the country.
Its introduction aligns closely with Oman’s broader tourism strategy, which places strong emphasis on outdoor adventure and sustainable travel as key drivers for growth.

For the trade, Safarjala serves as an efficient digital bridge between agents and licensed tour operators, allowing advisors to check availability instantly, manage client bookings efficiently and design tailored itineraries with confidence.
Tour operators benefit from a streamlined system to track reservations, update offerings, and maintain direct communication with both agents and travellers, improving efficiency and reducing friction in the booking process.
From the traveller’s perspective, the app combines seamless booking functionality with interactive maps and smart navigation tools. Users can communicate directly with activity providers for personalised support, helping plan and manage their adventures with greater ease and confidence.
MHT describes the app as an “effective tool” that contributes to enhancing the tourist experience and keeping pace with the aspirations of the modern tourism sector.
The launch of Safarjala builds on Oman’s growing experience with digital tourism tools. The Dhofar Season app, introduced in 2023, has attracted more than 145,000 users with its itinerary planning and real-time event updates around the Khareef monsoon season.
