Qatar Airways updates Avios redemption rules

Members will be rewarded Avios at check-in to spend in the airport

Qatar Airways has changed the rules on Avios earning, allowing Qatar Airways Privilege Club members to spend the currency at Hamad International Airport.

The move means that Avios points will be credited up to 120 minutes before the flight’s departure. The points can then be collected and spent at any of the almost 200 outlets at Hamad International Airport (HIA) in partnership with Qatar Duty Free (QDF).

Members of the partnering British Airways Executive Club will have to become members of Qatar Airways Privilege Club and move Avios from their BA accounts to spend them at Hamad International at Doha. This can be done instantly and with no transaction cost.

A first in the world initiative, this demonstrates our commitment for going the extra mile when enhancing the quality of our offerings by providing members with a seamless experience.

"We encourage everyone travelling through HIA to avail themselves of this opportunity as there has never been an easier way to collect and spend Avios.”
