Numbers increased 14.8% versus H1 2022

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has announced record-breaking visitor numbers in the first six months of 2023

The emirate welcomed 600,000 visitors between January and June 2023, a total increase of 14.8% versus H1 2022. In addition, Ras Al Khaimah saw the highest ever tourism-related revenue achieved for a half-year period.

The emirate also expanded its aviation strategy by partnering with Qatar Airways to leverage the airline's 150-country network and unveiled the design for the US$3.9 billion Wynn Al Marjan Island set to open in early 2027.

Speaking about the emirate’s performance, RAKTDA CEO Raki Phillips said: “This year is shaping up to be the emirate’s best to date, with our first half results proving the efficacy of moving fast, staying relevant and getting things done.

"It’s essential we remain agile and continue to develop Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism offering and create diverse and inspiring experiences for all. We have big ambitions and are confident that we will exceed our targets for 2023”.

One of the key drivers of the emirate’s rising visitor numbers is the continued expansion of its hotel portfolio. In addition to Wynn Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah will see the opening of the 174-key Anantara Mina Al Arab and 300-key Sofitel Al Hamra in 2023, the 257-key Westin Resort in 2024, the 350-key Le Méridien Al Marjan Island Resort and the 265-key Earth Shore Al Marjan Island in 2025, and the 300-key Nobu Al Marjan Island in 2026.
