Reif Japanese Kushiyaki expands with new Dubai venue

A third outlet of the homegrown concept by Reif Othman is now open

Reif Japanese Kushiyaki has opened a third outlet in Dubai, as the company celebrates its second anniversary this month.

The new restaurant is at Dar Wasl Mall opposite chef-owner Reif Othman’s flagship venue and serves an all-day, à la carte lunch and dinner menu, a selection of creative cakes. Asagohan, the Japanese morning breakfast meal, is a new addition. From 16 September 2021 onwards, both the new venue and the existing one will serve breakfast every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8.30am until 3pm to meet demand from late risers.

Speaking about the newly opened venue, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki chef-owner  Reif Othman said: “We have opened another outlet in the same mall to accommodate increased demand, while also overcoming lack of space due to dining restrictions. We’re now able to seat 46 covers indoors across both outlets, while we look forward to adding more tables when the weather cools down and the terrace re-opens.”

The menu showcases a mix of savoury and sweet Far Eastern-inspired breakfast dishes, alongside European classics – all featuring Othman’s unconventional approach. Some examples include tamago (egg) sando with milk bread and tonkatsu sauce; monkey bread with kaya jam and salted butter; galette with a selection of fillings such as cheese, walnuts and honey; and Reif Benedict with steamed buns, shiso-cured salmon and yuzu kosho hollandaise.

Additional new openings are scheduled for the first franchised Reif Japanese Kushiyaki restaurant in the world, in Cairo with Baky Hospitality for October 2021. Three new franchised locations have also been signed for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with Majd El Moustaqbal Ltd, due to open next year.
