The World Travel & Tourism Council event will take place in Riyadh later this year
The 22nd edition of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit will be held in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on 29 November.
The news was announced at the closing session of last week’s WTTC Global Summit in Manila, Philippines, where business leaders, government ministers and key decision-makers from across the global travel and tourism sector discussed how to continue to build on the travel sector’s recovery.
Saudi minister of tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khateeb said: “We are proud to host the next summit of the WTTC later this year. Now, the Kingdom represents a new and ambitious destination that aims to shape the tourism sector to become more flexible, inclusive and sustainable, taking advantage of our creative and innovative capabilities.
“We look forward to welcoming global travel and tourism leaders to the Kingdom to share and exchange experiences and knowledge.”
A recent Economic Impact Report released by WTTC showed that the global travel and tourism sector’s GDP contribution could reach pre-pandemic levels by 2023.
