Scenic Eclipse to embark on Saudi Arabia sailings this month

Tailor-made and pre-planned itineraries will highlight nature, culture, historic cities and ancient monuments

The Scenic Group has confirmed that its first purpose-built ocean cruise ship will sail Saudi waters from 17 July until 9 December.

International guests will be able to experience “stunning landscapes, Saudi heritage and warm and welcoming hospitality” on select sailings onboard Scenic Eclipse from October to December.

Described as “the ultimate in luxury”, Scenic Eclipse is equipped with an onboard submarine, two helicopters, a fleet of Zodiacs and a Specialist Discovery Team for unrivalled exploration.

Speaking about the emerging destination, Scenic Group founder and chairman Glen Moroney said: “Saudi Arabia will be one of the hottest tourist destinations in coming years and we’re very glad our guests will get to experience it in six-star comfort on board Scenic Eclipse.

“As a business we continue to raise the bar in ultra-luxury cruising, and we are confident that this new season will mark the start of a long relationship with the destination and hope to be able to offer more sailings in the region in the coming years.”

Scheduled stops include Yanbu, Saudi Arabia’s diving capital and a beach destination ideal for swimming, snorkelling and water sports in the Saudi Red Sea.

The vessel will offer tailor-made as well as pre-planned itineraries and will homeport in Jeddah Port on the Red Sea coast.

Saudi is fast becoming a popular cruise destination. MSC Cruises’ MSC Bellissima will also homeport in Jeddah and sail 21 Red Sea voyages between late July and October 2021.
