Shangri-La launches food and travel experiences menu

Marketed as a bucket list, options include home delivery iftars, excursions and local travel tips

Shangri-La has announced the launch of a curated list of food and travel experiences to inspire bookings and increase revenue.

The 2022 Shangri-La ‘bucket list’, published on its website, includes a mix of local travel recommendations and a number of experiences to be purchased at Shangri-La hotels around the world in destinations including Abu Dhabi, Bengaluru, Delhi, Dubai, Istanbul, Jeddah, London, Mauritius, Muscat, Paris, Toronto and Vancouver.

As an example, the listing for Abu Dhabi promotes Shangri-La’s Dine by Design programme as well as suggesting visitor’s ‘explore Abu Dhabi’s latest lifestyle destination, Al Qana’, a new waterfront development open to the public, which includes eateries, a cinema, the Middle East’s largest aquarium, a marina, boutiques and an e-sports arena.

The Bengaluru property experiences include ‘foodcations’ with 20% off spa treatments and ‘interactive hot pot sessions’ at Shang Palace, while the Paris hotel is selling chocolate Easter eggs by pastry chef Maxence Barbot that can feed up to 10 people, priced at €118.00. Customers can even order a home delivery Iftar from the Muscat resort (pictured).

Effectively, the suggestions form a shopping list, framed by brief in-destination recommendations, but some experiences are also designed help buyers make a difference. Guests can opt to take part in activities where they learn about the local environment, discover protected wildlife or support sustainability.

Currently, the listing is divided topically, by Spring and Ramadan experiences, and by destination, and there isn’t a search function, so clients will need to scroll through to find whatever they’re interested in pursuing.
