The 75-key hotel will be next door to the east coast’s first water park
Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced that work is underway on its large-scale development project in Khorfakkan in Sharjah, one of the seven emirates in the UAE.
On track for completion in 2024, the development is spread across 38,000 square metres, and will feature the first waterpark in the eastern region and more than 200 residential units, in addition to a five-star hotel.
The luxury hotel will comprise pools, restaurants and a ballroom, and will operate under the Autograph Collection by Marriott International.
Built opposite Khorfakkan port, the development will feature 75 units, 62 single rooms, five double rooms and eight luxury suites offering views of the Arabian Sea.
Unveiling the details of the project, Shurooq acting CEO Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer said: “The expansive project caters to the ever-growing demand for tourism and leisure experiences on the [UAE’s] East Coast.”
Shurooq’s new project follows the ongoing development of the nature-inspired Lux Al Jabal Resort in Khorfakkan, located on the slopes of Soueifa mountain.
According to Al Qaseer, this project will help to bolster the Sharjah’s touristic appeal and drive its future growth and urban development, creating investment opportunities in several sectors, including entertainment, sports, services and retail, and contributing to a diversified economy.
