The Best Chef Awards revealed in Mexico

Dubai's Himanshu Saini and Gregoire Berger and Bahrain's Tala Bashmi among award winners

The list of winners of the seventh edition of The Best Chef Awards was revealed at the Yucatán International Congress Centre in Mexico during a glamorous ceremony this month.

Along with 10 special awards, the ceremony revealed the complete list of the top 100 chefs, voted for by industry experts. 

Representing the Middle East Region were Dubai-based chefs Himanshu Saini (#27) and Gregoire Berger (#39) along with Bahrain's Tala Bashmi (#63).
Bashmi and Berger also received Rising Star and Dining Experience awards respectively.

Ahead of launching in Dubai, Dabiz Muñoz of DiverXO in Spain topped the list for the third consecutive year while his fellow countryman Albert Adrià of Enigma came in second. Ana Roš of Hiša Franko in Slovenia, completed the podium, rising from ninth to third place; once again, she was the highest-ranking woman on the list.

The  gastronomic elite spanned 31 nationalities with Europe as the continent with the greatest representation (54 chefs), followed by America (24) and Asia (17), with Spain consolidating its position as the most influential country, with 14 chefs.
