Luxury all-suite property debuts in former US Embassy building in Mayfair
The Chancery Rosewood has opened its doors in London, debuting in Mayfair’s Grosvenor Square within the Grade II listed former US Embassy building.
The launch marks the culmination of a four-year redevelopment project and introduces an all-suite hotel set in one of the capital’s most recognisable modernist landmarks.
Originally designed in 1960 and restored by Sir David Chipperfield, the building retains its iconic gilded eagle by Theodore Roszak, crafted from B-52 bomber aluminium.
Inside, the historic setting has been reimagined for contemporary hospitality, with interiors referencing its diplomatic past.
Suites are named after American figures including Kennedy, Saarinen and John Adams, and a 700-piece art collection curated by London-based Cramer & Bell features works by Sir Christopher Le Brun and Anthony Grace, the latter exploring American landmarks and presidential history.
