The Maine’s Joey Ghazal to open Canary Club restaurant in Dubai

The first Canary Club is at Banyan Tree Residences near JLT

The Maine East Coast Brasserie Company, helmed by Joey Ghazal, will launch its new brand, Canary Club, at the Banyan Tree Residences in Hillside near Dubai’s Jumeirah Lake Towers neighbourhood this March (2022).

Hot off the heels of the launch of the Maine East Coast Brasserie Company’s first international outpost, the Maine in London, Ghazal and his team are ready to launch their second concept, Canary Club, which they’ve been working on for the past eight months.

Joey Ghazal

Canary Club, features 300 covers across two floors of a stand-alone building overlooking the Banyan Tree Residences’ pool with a 150-seater restaurant and bar on the 1st floor, and 150 capacity on the rooftop bar with views of the JLT and Marina skyline.

This new concept is descibed as “a laid-back West Coast eatery is a blend of Californian diner, ‘Mexicatessen’ and robata with a hint of Polynesian tiki bar”

Designed by Joey and Eddie Ghazal of Fighterbrands, the interiors draw on a Seventies aesthetic and feature rattan, wicker, macramé, shag carpets, sandstone and pops of canary yellow.

The Canary Club menu is a crowd-pleasing Japanese-Mexican crossover that features a range of rolls, ceviche, taco-makis, robatas, healthy bowls, grilled fish, meat and vegetarian dishes,  all married with an array of classic and south pacific inspired cocktails.

Speaking about Canary Club, Ghazal said: “We’re very excited to unveil our first new brand since opening Maine Oyster Bar & Grill in 2015. We care about giving people what they want, and investing in the residential communities of Dubai has been our ethos for the past six years.”
