The regulation will come into effect in January 2022
The UAE has announced that UAE citizens who aren’t fully vaccinated will not be able to travel outside of the UAE from 10 January 2022.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), all Emiratis are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster shot where required), in order to travel outside of the country.
Exemptions will be made for unvaccinated citizens who can’t be vaccinated due to existing medical conditions, humanitarian cases and those travelling for medical treatment.
The foreign ministry and the NCEMA emphasised the importance of ensuring that all travellers adhere to preventive measures.
