Wizz Air Abu Dhabi launches flights to Greek Islands

The low-cost airline’s one-way fares to Mykonos, Crete and Rhodes start from Dhs179

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has confirmed that it will begin operating flights to three new destinations in Greece – the islands of Mykonos, Rhodes and Crete.

Flights to Mykonos will commence from 7 July, to Crete from 9 July and to Rhodes from 12 July.

The route to Mykonos will be operated twice per week on Wednesdays and Sundays and flights to Rhodes and Crete will operate on Mondays and Fridays.

Tickets to these three destinations are currently on sale across the airline’s platforms, with one-way fares starting from Dhs179.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi managing director Kees Van Schaick said: “As the summer holidays are fast approaching, we’re thrilled to announce our latest destinations to the stunning Greek islands of Mykonos, Rhodes and Crete. These new routes follow the recent announcements of the UAE establishing a travel corridor with Greece, which is a great step for the travel industry and tourists.”

As a result of the travel corridor between Greece and the UAE, passengers from the UAE can fly into Greece without having to quarantine on arrival. They must provide either a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before arrival, proof of Covid-19 recovery or a vaccination certificate in English issued by a public authority. Sinophram vaccines are accepted. Children five years of age and younger are exempt from this requirement.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi recently announced the launch of flights to Santorini from 2 July. With the addition of these three Greek destinations, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s flight network has increased to 29 locations.
