5 reasons to book Silversea’s 2026 world cruise

The 140-day voyage will cover 70 destinations in 37 countries

Few journeys are as coveted as a world cruise, and Silversea’s 2026 World Cruise is designed as the ultimate bucket-list experience, a modern Grand Tour for travellers seeking variety and immersion.

Departing Fort Lauderdale in Florida on 6 January 2026 and concluding in Lisbon, Portugal on 27 May, this 140-day voyage aboard Silver Dawn visits 70 destinations in 37 countries across six continents.

Here's Connecting Travel's five reasons why this 2026 World Cruise is a top choice for those looking for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

1. Far-reaching and diverse itinerary
This cruise covers an impressive range of places across nine routes, exploring 70 destinations in 37 countries on six continents. Passengers can enjoy a wide spectrum of cultures and landscapes, from the pink salt lakes of Esperance in Australia to the cultural centres of Singapore and Mumbai.

The journey also takes in Cape Town’s dramatic coastline, wildlife on Phillip Island, the ancient statues of Easter Island and historic ports of Casablanca and Istanbul.

There are stops too at less-visited locations, such as the Fakarava and Nuku Hiva in the South Pacific’s Marquesas Islands, one of the world’s most remote archipelagos known for its diving, black pearl farms, waterfalls and ancient Polynesian culture.

2. Immersive cultural and culinary experiences
Themed 'The Curious and the Sea', Silversea's 2026 World Cruise is inspired by the historic journeys of world navigators, with tailored events and immersive programming designed to "connect guests with the authentic soul of each destination".

On-shore experiences include a traditional dance performance and seafood feast in French Polynesia and dinner among rice paddies in Bali, Indonesia. Onboard, guests can get involved in everything from hands-on workshops in crafts and cooking to dance performances, as well as lectures on nature, food and history by expert speakers.

Silversea’s S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) programme is a particular highlight, offering 80 regionally inspired menus and 70 cocktails, each reflecting the regions visited, while guest chefs, food experts and authors provide hands-on classes, cooking demonstrations and lectures.

For the first time, passengers receive two complimentary onshore S.A.L.T dining experiences in select cities, so they can immerse themselves in local food traditions.

3. All-inclusive service
A largely all-inclusive experience, the 2026 World Cruise includes an array of complimentary services to ensure a seamless experience, from private transfers and business class airfare to pre-cruise hotel stays and meet-and-greets.

Onboard, all guests enjoy suite accommodation with dedicated butler service and in-suite dining, premium Wi-Fi, laundry and medical services. Some suites come with private balconies, others with large picture windows for panoramic ocean views.

Passengers get one complimentary shore excursion per port, per day, along with a US$1,000 (AED3,700) onboard spending credit per guest, plus a spa treatment.

Guests can can also attend exclusive events throughout the journey, with a lineup that includes Fire of Antolia, a performance of 100 dancers and musicians set in one of the world’s most intact Roman theatres, in Antalya, Turkiye.

4. Opportunity for overland adventures
For those interested in deeper exploration, Silversea’s World Cruise 2026 is set to offer optional overland programmes to inland destinations not accessible by ship.

In Mumbai, guests can leave the ship and travel take a 10-day journey through Uzbekistan to see landmarks and traditions along its famous trade route. Alternative overland journeys include a six-day exploration of Egypt that takes in Luxor and the Nile and a four-day trip through the Balkans with a visit to Montenegro.

Silversea has also opened bookings for its 2027 and 2028 world cruises, with the latter 132-day cruise aboard Silver Shadow covering 58 destinations in 29 countries and including 17 overnight stays.

5. Contemporary small-ship comfort
Silver Dawn is a small ship by modern cruise standards, accommodating just 596 guests and offering one of the highest space-to-guest ratios at sea, providing passengers with plenty of room to relax, whether on deck or in the ship’s spacious public areas.

Despite its intimate size, the ship has eight distinct restaurants, providing a different dining experience every night of the week, and an array of facilities to keep guests occupied when at sea.

Otium Spa features a full menu of treatments, while a well-equipped gym lets guests maintain their fitness routines throughout the journey. Entertainment options range from live performances to enrichment lectures.
