Cruise Saudi Acquires World Dream cruise ship

Renamed Manara, the ship will sail under its new ownership this summer

Cruise Saudi has been confirmed as the buyer of the World Dream cruise ship.

Formally one of Genting Hong Kong’s flagship Asia-based cruise ships, World Dream was initially launched in 2017 to serve the Asian market, with capacity for 5,000 passengers.

It’s reported that Cruise Saudi, a relative newcomer to the global cruising industry, bought the vessel in late February for US$330 million. Renamed Manara, the ship is expected to start sailing under its new ownership this summer.

Speaking about the acquisition, Cruise Saudi CEO Lars Clasen said: “The ship has been renamed to reflect its new ownership and will now undergo a refit.”
