Sister to Utopia of the Seas will enter service in 2028

Royal Caribbean Group has confirmed plans to build a seventh Oasis-class ship.

The company has signed a deal for the vessel – which has not yet been named – to be built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France, and the ship is scheduled to enter service in 2028.

The new ship will be a sister to Utopia of the Seas, which will debut in July 2024.

Royal Caribbean said the order is “contingent upon financing”, which it expects to be completed later this year.

Royal Caribbean International president and chief executive Michael Bayley said: “These are exciting times for Royal Caribbean and we have an incredible partner in Chantiers de l’Atlantique to bring to life the lucky seventh Oasis-class vessel of what is a remarkable class of ships.”
