6 new riads added at Virgin Limited Edition's Kasbah Tamadot, Morocco

Three-bedroom accommodation available to book from July

Sir Richard Branson's hospitality group Virgin Limited Edition will introduce six new three-bedroom riads at its renowned Moroccan retreat Kasbah Tamadot from 1 July 2024.

Award-winning Kasbah Tamadot, meaning 'soft breeze' in Berber, is located in the Atlas Mountains and enjoys views over Mount Toubkal.

The introduction of the new premium room category is part of a wider refurbishment across the property, which will reopen in full on 15 October 2024, following the temporary and partial closure in the wake of the region's devastating earthquake in September 2023.

Last week, the company unveiled a first look of the new accommodations on LinkedIn. The post read: "Introducing Virgin Limited Edition's new luxury riads at Kasbah Tamadot, opening on 1 July. The six brand-new riads have been carefully fitted out using traditional Moroccan design principles, creating a tranquil oasis for the modern traveller. Here’s a very first look inside."

Newly designed image renderings offer a peak at the six new expansive three-bedroom riads – featuring one further bedroom than originally planned – that can sleep up to 10 guests.

Each riad has a private pool and each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom, lounge area and terrace, with the addition of a tented rooftop suite, consisting of two connected tents with a hot tub on the spacious roof terrace.

Individually decorated in traditional Moroccan style, the interiors will feature soft-furnishings hand-made by artisans from the local Berber community supported by Kasbah Tamadot's charitable arm, The Eve Branson Foundation.

Riad rooms and suites are available to book both individually and collectively, by booking an entire riad for exclusive use, ideal for families and groups looking for privacy.

Brand-new restaurant Asayss will also open in July 2024, under the direction of Kasbah Tamadot's executive chef, Yassine Khalal, serving Moroccan and international cuisine to both hotel guests and visitors from the wider area. The menu will celebrate local produce, the majority of which will be sourced from the hotel's own extensive kitchen garden, with a tasting menu available in the evening.

The resort's infinity pool remains one of the hotel's most striking features, surrounded by 360-degree views of the High Atlas Mountains.

Local spa treatments include a traditional hamman, while other activities include authentic Moroccan cooking lessons and guided hiking and cycling in the surrounding mountains.

The hotel also prides itself on being one of Morocco's most authentic hotels with a 100% Moroccan team.
