Air Arabia is set to introduce its first-ever non-stop service between Sharjah and Rome, expanding its European network with a new low-cost connection to Italy’s capital. The daily flights will commence on 1 July 2026, with fares starting from AED567.
Operating from Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) to Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), a nine-time Skytrax winner of Best Airport in Europe, the route will be served by the airline’s Airbus A320neo aircraft. Rome Fiumicino Airport is located around 30km from the city centre, with journey times of about half an hour by train or taxi.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the outbound flight will depart Sharjah at 07:55, arriving in Rome at 12:35. The return journey will leave Rome at 13:35 and land back in Sharjah at 21:40. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, flights will depart Sharjah at 16:20 and reach Rome at 21:00, with the return leg at 22:00, arriving in Sharjah at 06:05 the following day.
Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, said: “Expanding our presence in Italy reflects our continued commitment to offering convenient, direct connectivity to key international destinations while delivering reliable, value-driven travel options to our customers.”

Complementing the airline’s growth, Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) – Air Arabia’s primary hub – also set new passenger records, welcoming nearly 20 million travellers in 2025, up 14% from the 17 million reported in 2024.
