Airport transit passengers can now relive the Fifa World Cup on a tour of Qatar’s stadiums

Discover Qatar (DQ), the destination management company for the Qatar Airways Group, has launched three new coach tours, departing from Hamad International Airport, that highlight Qatar's moment in football history.

Coach trippers can reimagine the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 in a tour that takes in Qatar’s impressive stadiums.

The guided coach tours include an exterior visit to five World Cup stadiums: Al Thumama, Education City, Khalifa International, Lusail Iconic Stadium and the innovative Stadium 974 – soon to be disassembled.

Discover Qatar World Cup Stadiums Tour can be booked online up to 48 hours before arrival in Doha or offline at the Qatar Tourism/Discover Qatar kiosk in the Duty Free Plaza on arrival at Hamad International Airport. The tour is priced at US$42 per adult, US$21 per child under the age of 12, and free of charge for children below the age of two.

Commenting on the announcement, Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: “Sports enthusiasts can relive the excitement of the historic Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 by visiting Qatar’s iconic stadiums, which hosted an unforgettable edition of the world’s most popular tournament.”

Passengers who are transiting for four hours or more through the airport can also enjoy up to two hours on the squash court at Hamad International's Oryx Airport Hotel, including equipment and access to the showers at the Vitality Wellbeing & Fitness Center. A squash session is priced at US$25 per adult (a minimum of two customers are required to make a booking). Golf fans can book into the state-of-the-art golf simulator, priced at US$33 per person.
