Commenting on the news, Emirates' Abbas said: “With international borders relaxing, we’ve witnessed the demand for air travel surge across our global markets, which reflects how eager people are to fly again.

"The MoU we’ve signed today opens up new channels for travellers to discover and book on Emirates, and also reaffirms our solid commitment to Southeast Asia as we continue to identify partners and opportunities to contribute to the region’s travel and tourism recovery.”

Traveloka's Putera added: “The tourism sector is rebounding faster than anticipated due to more people finding the confidence to travel. International tourists arrivals almost tripled in January to July 2022 (+172%) compared to the same period of 2021, as recorded in the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer.

“Both Traveloka and Emirates have been sharing the same vision towards recovery, and we hope this partnership will bring greater impact for the travel industry. As a leading travel and lifestyle platform in Southeast Asia, Traveloka is committed to work hand-in-hand with our partners to fulfil our customers’ aspirations.”
