Emirates to operate more than 100 weekly flights to UK this summer

Airline will reintroduce A380 service to Glasgow and Birmingham as part of global ramp-up

Emirates has boosted operations by 31% since the start of the financial year and has further plans to ramp up seat capacity from 26 March 2023.

In recent months the airline has executed the rapid growth of its network operations by reintroducing services to five cities, launching flights to Tel Aviv and adding 251 weekly flights to existing routes.

In the UK, Emirates will be reintroducing its A380 aircraft to Glasgow from 26 March 2023, and to Birmingham from 1 July. The airline will also serve Stansted with a second daily service from 1 May, taking Emirates’ London operations up to 11 daily flights.

By this summer, Emirates will be serving the UK with 119 weekly flights, including six daily A380 services to London Heathrow; three times daily A380 service to Gatwick; double daily service to Stansted; three times daily A380 service to Manchester; double daily service to Birmingham; daily service to Newcastle, and a daily A380 service to Glasgow.

Emirates chief commercial officer Adnan Kazim said: “Our financial year started relatively quietly as we held back our ramp-up until the planned northern runway rehabilitation programme at Dubai International airport was completed in June. From July 2022 onwards, it’s been non-stop expansion.

“Customer demand has been very strong, and our forward bookings are also robust. Emirates is working hard on several fronts to bring back operating capacity as quickly as the ecosystem can manage, while also upgrading our fleet and product to ensure our customers always enjoy the best possible Emirates experience.

"So far, four of our A380 aircraft have been completely refurbished with our new cabin interiors and Premium Economy seats, and more will enter service as our US$2 billion cabin and service enhancement programme picks up pace.”
