Millennium Hotels & Resorts partners with UAE Food Bank to reduce waste

Excess food from hotel buffets will be safely stored and redistributed to those in need

Millennium Hotels & Resorts MEA has partnered with the UAE Food Bank, a non-profit charitable organisation to safely provide food to those in need in the UAE during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), annually almost one-third of the world’s food is wasted – that’s the equivalent of about 1.3 billion tonnes of food, worth approximately one trillion dollars.

The UAE Food Bank is committed to distributing food to the less fortunate while eliminating food waste by collaborating with local authorities and charities to create a comprehensive ecosystem to efficiently store, package and redistribute excess fresh food from hotels, restaurants and supermarkets.
