GCC travellers accounted for 36% of arrivals
Qatar recorded around 1.13 million visitors during the first quarter of 2026, according to new data from Qatar Tourism, as regional travel demand continues to support the destination’s tourism growth.
January accounted for the highest monthly total with 646,000 arrivals, followed by 423,000 in February and 63,000 in March. GCC travellers represented 36% of all arrivals during the quarter, with around 408,000 visitors travelling from across the region.
The latest figures come as Qatar Tourism ramps up its summer tourism campaigns. Earlier this month, the tourism board launched its ‘Kids Go Free’ initiative as part of the ‘Hala Summer’ 2026 programme, offering complimentary stays, dining and selected attractions for children under 12 travelling with paying adults between 1 May and 30 September 2026. More than 100 hotels and resorts are participating in the campaign alongside offers across restaurants, museums, theme parks and entertainment venues.
