Agreement was signed at the 10th edition of the Arab Aviation Summit in RAK

VPorts and Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Airport have signed an agreement to establish the first vertiport in Ras Al Khaimah.

Vertiports are hubs for VTOL (Vertical Take-off and Landing) aircraft, such as air taxis and drones.

VPorts is moving further into the sector of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) by building and operating the AAM World Integrator World Centre in Dubai in partnership with Electra.aero, Falcon Aviation and SkyDrive.

With the regional fleet of VTOL aircraft set for a significant expansion over the next decade, experts and thought leaders shared insights on the challenges and opportunities in the field, and called on greater public-private sector cooperation to transition the sector to a greener future.

Efficiency and a practical approach towards sustainability in the wider aviation sector was also a key pillar in all discussions throughout the summit.
